This evening was the Conference Bowl.

It was the youth against the leaders and

the leaders won by 99 points.

Tonight we tightened the benches in the

chapel and washed the sacrament trays.

merit badge at Brother Bretey's

Granite Flats Winter Overnighter

Winter Hike

Our first winter hike for 2010 was up Willow Heights. We had intended to locate an area for our overnight camp out but the weather would dictate otherwise.




Willow Heights is a great short hike 12 miles up from the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon.




In preparation for our overnight camp out we thought it might be good to practice building a snow cave. It all started good but we learned from first hand experience that snow needs time to settle and re-compact before you start digging. It was a little scary when the cave collapsed with two boys inside. Fortunately we were all paying attention and working together so when the cave collapsed the recovery was quick.

On Friday May 1st and 2nd we will be camping at the Little Sahara.

On this camping trip we are planning a 10 mile hike for those working on their hiking merit badge.

We will meet at the Church parking lot at 3:30 on Friday. We will leave between 3:45 and 4:00 pm
